Placeholder text. This notice is awaiting legal review and will change before launch.
This notice explains what personal information Plot collects, why we collect it, how it is shared, and how you can exercise your privacy rights. It is provided at the point of data collection in accordance with applicable privacy law, including the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
1. Who we are
Plot is operated by The Tin Limited, London, UK. How to contact us is set out in 8. Contact us.
2. What we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers — email address, where you register for a Plot account.
- Internet or other electronic network activity — page views, dwell time, scroll depth, click patterns, and poll responses recorded during your use of the platform. This includes data collected via tracking pixels.
- Professional or employment-related information — inferred from your engagement behaviour and any registration details you provide.
- Inferences — engagement scores and intent signals derived from your activity on the platform, used to generate warm lists.
The precise categories collected depend on how you use the platform: registered readers generate the full set of signals above; readers who engage without registering generate engagement activity signals and inferences; anonymous visitors generate aggregate page-count data only and are not included in warm lists or data sharing with paying clients.
4. Why we process it
Personal information is collected and processed for the following purposes:
- To generate intent signals that reflect your professional interests in topics covered on the platform.
- To build warm lists — aggregated engagement data provided to paying clients as part of the Plot Intelligence Retainer service.
- To produce monthly engagement reports for paying clients.
- To maintain and improve the Plot platform.
5. How long we keep it
Engagement signals are retained for 12 months from the point of collection and then deleted automatically. No human discretion is applied to this schedule.
If the platform's AI processes source content to generate editorial synthesis, ingested copies of that content are deleted automatically after processing. No ingested source copy is retained.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you (data export).
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (see below).
- Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
To ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, send us a message through the contact form, or write to us at the address in 8. Contact us. We will acknowledge your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
You may opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information at any time. To do so, click the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer of every Plot page. This preference is stored server-side and persists across sessions; it is not held in a browser cookie.
Plot automatically honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or browser extension sends a Sec-GPC: 1 header, we treat your request as a Do Not Sell instruction without any further action required from you. You will not be prompted to override this signal.
When you opt out, engagement data continues to be collected for our own platform analytics. You are excluded from all warm lists and data sharing with paying clients.
